The most dangerous phrase in the language is, “we’ve always done it this way.”

"Come on, let’s mix it up!" The heart surgeon says.
"B-but we’ve always done it this way!" The other replies, "this is how you replace a heart valve."
"That’s the most dangerous phrase in the human language!" The first surgeon replies haughtily as he inputs a fruit loop into the patient’s heart. "This will be his valve. He will be a fruit loop in a world of Cheerios."

This is serious business, because this is a large part of how sexism, racism, homophobia, rape culture, ethnocentrism, etc. continue to happen.

The Black Count is Being Adapted for a New Film!

Tom Reiss’s The Black Count, which details the true story of Général Thomas Alexandre Dumas (father of author Alexandre Dumas), is being adapted into a film directed by Cary Fukunaga (director of HBO’s True Detective).

No actors have been named so far, although some people are already speculating that Howard Charles may be considered for the lead. He’s known for playing the role of Porthos on the BBC’s Three Musketeers:

Palace Szczodre (also known as Sibyllenort)
Lower Silesia, Poland.

This stunning ruin was once the glittering home first built by Christian Ulrich I of Wurttemburg, the Duke of Bernstadt in the late 1600’s. It was later increased in size and style especially during the ownership of the Duke of Brunswick during the 1820’s.

At its peak the house contained 400 rooms and it’s own theatre with it’s very own ballet company.

The Szczodre Palace was damaged by the Wehrmacht and the SS and was later left to ruin.

The evocative and striking series Ecce Homo by Natalia Evelyn Bencicova, a 21 year old Slovakian artist, explores human vulnerability and behaviour within society as well as society’s character within the world.

Really interesting just how dehumanised these nudes are.
